Following assistance from Axaz, Sixt Biludlejning has taken the step towards data-driven decisions and increased control over key company data. Through deliverables that include integration, data warehousing and analytics, Sixt is able to leverage the value and insights of its data to improve existing products and services, as well as develop new ones.
“We have now improved control over key operational data related to our business. This enables us to make decisions based on data to a greater extent and create better experiences for our customers. Sixt is the world's leading car rental provider and offers rental cars tailored to your needs. The company is present in more than 105 countries and has more than 500 rental offices worldwide. In Norway, Sixt is nationwide with about 80 offices, from Kristiansand in the south to Vardø in the north.
Sixt Norway had an overarching need to improve control and access to data in the organization. This included, among other things, continuous control of orders, deliveries, sales and other operations-related processes. Through improved control and access to data, they can extract more insight and value, and thus have a good basis for making the right decisions going forward.
Sixt was in need of a supplier who could assist in extracting value from the data within the company. At the same time, they were keen to connect with a partner who could be an extended arm of the company on their journey towards becoming more data-driven, and who could continuously assist with the realisation of new needs.
“We chose Axaz as our digitalisation partner because they have the combination of good technical expertise, together with their understanding of the business side and our specific business needs. In addition, we wanted a partner who could further assist us in realizing new needs, as they arise, and ensure that we continuously develop the way we work with data,” says Eidsaa.
To achieve increased control over operations, much was about collecting data and structuring it in an appropriate way. This meant, among other things, making the data usable, accessible to the right people and available when they actually need it.
Axaz assisted Sixt in collecting and structuring data, and further establishing and managing the company's data warehouses. In this regard, it is important to understand the business side in order to be able to structure a data model according to the business needs. A data model describes data and how the different data relate to each other, and is used, among other things, to visualize digital ecosystems. The data model was structured based on raw data from one of Sixt's core systems used for landlord management.
To collect data, integrations were developed between Sixt's core system and data warehouses through the use of the Boomi integration platform. By adopting Boomi, Axaz is able to create processes that extract and transform data quickly. Furthermore, Boomi helps increase data quality and consistency.
Axaz also helps develop and manage Sixt's Power BI report. It should enable standardized and automated insights for company management and decision makers. The report is used by many in the organization, where each user group has a customized view so that the data visualized is always relevant to the right people.
“Together with Sixt, we have worked closely and developed Power BI reports together. This has allowed us to gain a good understanding of Sixt's business needs and helped create value,” says Ruben Jenssen, delivery manager at Axaz.
Sixt has become more data-driven by automating processes related to the retrieval and transformation of important data, and further developed Power BI reports that illustrate and visualize the data in an understandable way according to users' needs. Employees have been provided with good and insightful analyses adapted to their responsibilities. This enables Sixt to make data-driven decisions to a greater extent.

The solution provides Sixt with a good foundation to be able to utilize the data in the company in the best possible way and to further innovate new products and services. Sixt will be able to continuously realize changes through its partnership with Azaz, and be able to quickly address new needs as they arise. This gives them good conditions to develop the company further.
